Dog River Geomorphic Assessment
Northfield Conservation Cooperative Secures Grant Funding!
On October 3, 2007, the Northfield Conservation Cooperative was awarded a grant from the Agency of Natural Resources, Water Quality Division, to conduct a geomorphic assessment of the Dog River from Roxbury, Vermont to Montpelier Junction. The Northfield Conservation Cooperative will be responsible for convening a steering committee to oversee the grant, hiring a consultant to perform contract work, and ensuring that all the guidelines of the grant process are followed. Results of the geomorphic survey will be used to develop plans for flood control and prevention, and water quality protection.
Northfield Town Forest Trail Maintenance
In January 2008 the Northfield Conservation Cooperative applied for a grant from the Vermont Department of Forest, Parks and Recreation for an Outdoor Recreation Trail Grant to support trail maintenance in the town forest.
